NOT YOUR TYPICAL N.A.R.M. THROW-AWAY CD SAMPLER

RED Distribution's Graphic Wrapped Apple® iPod Given To Attendees At NARM's 48th Annual Convention Inights & Sounds.06 Is A Big Hit In Florida and Included ism's "Breathe" Radio Single

Attendees at this year’s 48th Annual National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) Insights & Sounds.06 Convention & Marketplace received a sampler that wasn't used as a coaster for their favorite beverage in their hotel rooms this year.

RED Distribution's graphic wrapped Apple® iPod was a big hit with attendee's and included hot properties such as the radio single "Breathe" off the new Monkey Underneath album by New York City-based indie band ism. Monkey Underneath was released by STM records and is distributed by BDG/RED Distribution/Sony. ism is touring nationally in support of their album release.

Along with the iPod was a booklet highlighting the included music, album cover minis, label logos and artist information. RED Distribution is a Sony BMG-owned independent record distributor that handles releases for some 40 record labels. This year’s gathering of the music retailing community was held in Kissimmee, Florida, at the Gaylord Palms Resort on August 2nd through August 5th.

ism deeply weaves contemplative yet accessible lyrical ideas with a cool, scorching blend of ultra melodic rock, sensuous electronica, trip-hop and industrial elements. ism has been favorably compared to Nine Inch Nails and “a more rockin’ Radiohead.” Charismatic leadsinger and songwriter Andre Mistier’s rich intellectual sensibility comes alive amidst a rush of blistering, crazy by design energy.

What Radio is saying about ism:

"I haven’t enjoyed a song this much on the very first listen in along time."
- Capone Assistant Program Director/Music Director
WHRL, Albany, NY

“ism is a band that must be reckoned with, they have powerful hooks and great crossover appeal. A no brainer all the way.”
- Joe Roach, Program Director
KANR, Wichita, KS
